Future Light Orphanage of Worldmate
FLOW is grateful for recent developments and future plans enabled by the support of generous donors. In 2004 and 2005 we inaugurated four new beautiful dormitories for boys, Nobusada House and Bernice House, as well as another two donated by Mr. and Mrs. Yutaro Takahashi. In January 2006, FLOW held an inauguration ceremony for our new wonderful two-story dormitory for girls. 150 Worldmate members participated in the event. FLOW has plan to build another two-story building to conducting the training courses in modern technology, as per requests of the children. The project will take place soon this year 2006.

Support of Worldmate and Project for establishing an office branch in Ratanakiri

With the generous support of Worldmate, we are preparing to establish an office branch of FLOW in Ratanakiri province. This facility will house and educate the area's orphans and poor children temporarily before they are brought to and taken care of at our Phnom Penh FLOW.

I would like to briefly inform you why we have initiated the branch project in this province.

  • In Ratanakiri, with a staggering 87% of children here orphaned, this youth population is in desperate need of closer observation and care.
Worldmate members visited FLOW (January 2006).

  • The people of Ratanakiri are generally very isolated. The new office will act as an intermediary between FLOW in Phnom Penh and the orphaned children of Ratanakiri by compensating the distance between the two states. The kids accepted at the Ratanakiri branch will eventually be brought to FLOW Phnom Penh.
  • We can provide local kids with physical and emotional security, making them feel safe and loved.
  • We can provide them with an education and skills that would otherwise be far beyond their means. These children will thus envision better and brighter futures for themselves.
We have great hopes for this project and for the children of Ratanakiri, but also great need. Many supporters' gracious corporations have made the dream of this project possible.
